    Win Prestigious Magellan Awards Once Again

    Three of industry leader American Marketing Group's companies –


    TRAVELSAVERS, NEST
    and The Affluent Traveler – have been honored with Travel Weekly's prestigious Magellan Awards…for the third time!

     

    TRAVELSAVERS/NEST won a Gold Award for its Lifestyle Marketing Campaigns in the Travel Agent Organization/Marketing /Direct Mail category. Distributed on behalf of its travel agencies every other month throughout the year, the Lifestyle Marketing Campaigns drive new and repeat business to the groups' licensees and preferred suppliers. The program focuses in on the hot niche markets of: Romance Travel, World of Cruising, Family Fun, Experiential Travel, Luxury Travel, and Baby Boomer Travel. For each campaign, agents are given a marketing tool kit that includes customizable direct mail pieces, flyers and e-promos, and press release templates to send to their target customers.

     

    The Affluent Traveler Collection also won a Silver Award for The Affluent Traveler magazine in the Travel Agent Organization/Marketing/Print Advertising category. Available in 18 countries, the semi-annual consumer magazine targets the luxury travel market and was created to drive upscale travel business to independent luxury travel advisors who are part of The Affluent Traveler Collection network. Its advertorials feature world-class luxury travel experiences at upscale resorts, city hotels, spas, and cruise ships, as well as special culinary recommendations. The magazine's editorial line-up highlights various aspects of "the good life," including luxury travel experiences, culinary offerings, spa experiences, must-have accessories, and exotic travel destinations for the discriminating traveler who expects to be among the "first to know."

     

    Nicole Mazza, Chief Marketing Officer for TRAVELSAVERS, NEST and The Affluent Traveler Collection, said of the honors: "The 2011 Magellan Awards received entries from top travel organizations and professionals worldwide and the quality of the work was outstanding. Being selected yet again as a Magellan Award winner is a tremendous achievement. It recognizes that our programs represent the highest standard of excellence within the travel industry.     This is the third year that American Marketing Group companies have swept up Magellans. In 2008, TRAVELSAVERS also won Silver Awards for its Mahalo Days direct mail program and its 007 Canadian travel agent conference; The Affluent Traveler magazine captured a Silver Award. In 2009, TRAVELSAVERS brought home a Silver Award for its JOURNEYS magazine; and The Affluent Traveler magazine again won a Silver Award.

     

    The Magellan Awards recognize the best in travel and outstanding travel professionals in a broad range of industry segments, including hotels and resorts, travel destinations, cruise lines, online travel services, airlines and airports, travel agents and agency groups, tour operators, and car rental companies. The competition is judged by a panel of top travel professionals representing some of the best names and most accomplished leaders in the travel industry.

    Gather at Inaugural "Lunch 'N Learn"

    TRAVELSAVERS Ireland agents and suppliers gathered for the group's inaugural "Lunch 'n Learn" educational and networking programme at the Raddison Blu Royal Hotel in Dublin on September 15.

    Well-attended and held over the lunchtime hours, the meeting offered opportunities for TRAVELSAVERS Ireland licensees to network with their peers and gather sales-related information from preferred suppliers — without spending too much of their valuable time away from their offices. Lasting just three hours, the Lunch 'n Learn gathering was succinct and packed with business-building ideas.

    TRAVELSAVERS licensee Edel Moore of Maureen Delmar Travel said of the event: "I found it really motivating and thought it was full of helpful hints and tips on generating sales. When I came back to the office I emailed the other staff to make them aware of all of the offers and incentives that are out there at the moment. Then logged onto the extranet and personalised some flyers to send to clients. It's easy to speed read emails when they come into the office but it did take a morning like this for me to realise the full potential of what can be achieved, if we take advantage of the support that TRAVELSAVERS provide."

    The Lunch 'n Learn session focused on the ever-growing cruise segment.
